Job Description

NPR is seeking an intern for a 28-week, full-time internship to work on web content, including graphics, data visualization, and web archiving. The internship is divided into two parts: Editorial Graphics and Web Archivist, Research, Archives & Data Strategy (RAD). Interns will gain experience in design, data analysis, archiving, and web technologies under the supervision of host teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop graphics and web presentations
  • Research, analyze, and visualize data
  • Collaborate with archivists and technologists to develop NPR’s web archive
  • Conduct research to determine best practices around preserving interactives

Requirements

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Experience with front-end web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, D3)
  • Familiarity with digital preservation, archiving, and data management
  • Comfort with spreadsheets and data (CSV, JSON, etc.)
  • Must be a current student or recent graduate
