Job Description

NPR, a mission-driven multimedia organization, seeks an IT Service Desk Technician Intern to support staff with technology, including applications, hardware, and network connectivity. The intern will provide training, troubleshooting, and assist with projects in an enterprise IT environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide end-user support to resolve technical incidents
  • Diagnose issues with computers, mobile devices, and peripherals
  • Diagnose issues with network connectivity
  • Troubleshoot applications
  • Manage accounts
  • Administer user and computer accounts
  • Monitor, triage, and take ownership of support incidents
  • Assist in building PCs, installing applications, testing, maintaining, and supporting PCs, mobile devices, and peripherals
  • Provide creative troubleshooting and support for applications and production systems
  • Respond to service requests
  • Collaborate with other teams
  • Address system outages
  • Perform periodic audits
  • Correspond with internal clients
  • Create knowledge base articles
  • Adhere to Service Desk policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Basic computer hardware, application, OS, and mobile troubleshooting skills
  • Exceptional customer service/interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to operate in a deadline driven environment
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team
  • Self-Starter, detail oriented, with strong organizational skills
  • Prior Service Desk experience or equivalent education/technical training is a plus
  • Must be a current student or recent graduate in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Networking, Systems Administration, Media Technology/ Digital Media, or Data Analytics
