Job Description

NPR is seeking an intern for its Morning Edition and Weekend Edition programs. The internship, spanning from October 2025 to April 2026, offers hands-on experience in radio production, editing, and news story development. The intern will work with hosts and staff, pitching ideas, assisting with recordings, and producing segments.

Responsibilities

• Pitching ideas for host interviews and news stories
• Assisting with recording, producing, and editing radio pieces
• Booking guests and conducting pre-interviews
• Writing host copy and interview questions
• Writing digital interview highlights and stories
• Producing live and pre-recorded host interviews

Requirements

• Strong interest in news, politics, government, and current events
• Ability to own a task from concept to completion
• Willingness to learn and hone journalism skills
• Excellent research skills
• Journalism/news reporting or editing experience
• Audio production experience (preferred)
• Must be a current student or recent graduate within 12 months
