Job Description

NPR is seeking an intern for the Planet Money and The Indicator podcasts. The intern will be involved in research, audio production, writing, social media, and guest booking. The internship will be split between the two podcasts, providing experience in economics, finance, and narrative storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Research
• Assist in episode audio production
• Write copy for npr.org and social channels
• Craft posts to social media accounts
• Fact-check episodes
• Book guests
• Pitch stories
• Provide feedback at group edits
• Monitor team inboxes and social media accounts

Requirements

• Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills
• Knowledge of, or interest in, economics, finance, and business
• Professional phone presence
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to work independently and under deadline pressure
• Web and social media skills
• Ability to remain calm and communicate clearly on tight deadlines
• Experience with audio software is a plus
• Must be a current student or recent graduate
