Job Description

NPR is seeking an intern to support policy and communications activities, gaining knowledge of the legislative process, advocacy strategy, and effective communication. The intern will play an integral role in advocating for the public radio system, educating lawmakers, and developing public support.

Responsibilities

• Support policy and communications activities
• Conduct legislative research
• Draft collateral about public radio
• Prepare presentation materials
• Provide communications support for grassroots activities
• Prepare for in-person and virtual events

Requirements

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic knowledge of the legislative process
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google suite products, design software, WordPress and MailChimp
• Conversant on social media platforms
• Collaborative working style
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Current student or recent graduate with a focus on public policy, political science, or communications
