Job Description

Archer, an aerospace company, seeks an EWIS Lead in San Jose, California to design and manage electrical wiring systems for all-electric aircraft. Responsibilities include creating wiring diagrams, modifying harnesses, implementing communication protocols, and leading design reviews. The role requires experience in aircraft wiring design, knowledge of industry standards, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create wiring diagrams and documentation using Mentor Graphics Capital
• Modify aircraft harnesses for test lab needs
• Implement communication protocols (ARINC, CAN, Ethernet, Serial)
• Follow industry best practices for wiring design and installation
• Define system architecture and wiring connections with engineering teams
• Select optimal components for design applications
• Troubleshoot and test wiring during lab operations
• Use configuration and change management skills
• Lead technical Design Reviews of Electrical Wiring systems
• Negotiate and approve budget, resource planning, and scheduling
• Mentor, train, and develop engineers
• Review and approve documentation

Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience in aircraft wiring engineering and design
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
• Experience with Wiring CAD software (Mentor Graphics Capital, HarnessXC, Logic)
• Strong understanding of Aerospace/Mil-Spec wiring components and assembly procedures
• Hands-on experience in fabricating and inspecting wire harnesses
• Experience designing instrumentation and breakouts for HIL test systems
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
