Job Description

NPR is seeking an intern for their AI Labs team to contribute to the future of public media by exploring the use of AI technologies. The intern will gain experience in developing training materials, creating prototypes, testing AI technologies, and conducting research. The internship runs from October 6th, 2025 to April 17th, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to NPR’s emerging AI efforts
• Support the General Manager of AI Labs
• Keep apprised of relevant industry developments and share internally
• Conduct experiments with AI technologies and develop prototypes
• Support the training of NPR staff on AI technologies

Requirements

• Strong interest in generative AI and journalism
• Experience with user interfaces or prototypes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Current student or recent graduate (within 12 months)
• Preferred degree in Product Management, Computer Science or Human-Computer Interaction
