Job Description

Archer is seeking a Senior Electric Propulsion Test Engineer to develop and execute test plans for electric engines and thrust units, analyze data, and collaborate with various engineering teams to improve product design and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop electric engine and thrust unit test plans and procedures
  • Perform electric engine testing using various setups
  • Conduct requirements-based verification tests
  • Perform powertrain-level testing
  • Develop requirements for test stands and instrumentation
  • Process test data and write reports
  • Manage test priorities
  • Investigate testing issues
  • Collaborate with engineering teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
  • 4+ years of testing experience
  • Experience with test procedures for motor drives and/or motor+gearbox
  • Experience with electric engine test equipment
  • Experience with verification strategies and tests
  • Experience with system communication protocols
  • Experience with test instrumentation
  • Experience with signal processing and analysis
  • Experience with data processing and analysis using Python or Matlab
  • Experience with debugging test incidents and root cause analysis
  • Understanding of electrical circuit design, mechanical engineering, power electronics, and motor drives
