Job Description

Reserv, an insurtech company, is seeking a skilled BI-LIT Claims Examiner to manage litigated files, attend trials, conferences, mediations, and arbitrations. The role involves investigating claims, evaluating liability, negotiating settlements, and collaborating with various teams to improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and gather information related to claims
• Evaluate liability and damages
• Negotiate and settle claims
• Manage litigation cases
• Maintain electronic files
• Analyze defense counsel's performance
• Report to the Claims Manager
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams
• Manage legal aspects of litigated cases
• Analyze and review auto insurance claims
• Attend mediations, arbitrations, and court hearings
• Collaborate with defense counsel and claims counsel
• Review legal documents and ensure compliance
• Serve as corporate representative for discovery review and depositions
• Analyze policy language and reach coverage decisions
• Direct and control activities and costs of outside vendors
• Maintain adjuster licenses and continuing education requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (preferred)
• 10+ years of claim handling experience, with 5+ years handling litigation
• Experience in transportation litigation (preferred)
• Strong medical knowledge
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills
• Knowledge of multiple state statutes
• Ability to professionally collaborate with stakeholders
• Active adjuster license(s) or willingness to obtain within 45 days
• Attention to detail and time management
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment
• Desire for continuous professional development
• Willingness to travel
