Job Description

onX is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead a cross-functional team of engineers and shape the future of off-pavement mobile experiences. This role will oversee Vertical Engineering teams focusing on specific customer experiences. The position involves working with multidisciplinary teams to leverage off-pavement data.

Responsibilities

• Support teammates with goal-setting, professional development, and mentoring
• Ensure delivery of maintainable, high-quality, customer-focused products
• Lead team in design, development, testing, deployment, and operations
• Hire engineers and managers
• Manage dependencies between functional teams and facilitate collaboration
• Drive projects and direct multiple teams
• Communicate and coordinate team goals

Requirements

• 5+ years in a leadership role managing and scaling engineering, and 8+ years of experience in software engineering
• Proven track record of delivering customer solutions
• Proven track record delivering solutions to help enable product and engineering teams
• Excellent communication skills with executives and non-technical leaders
• Strong computer science foundation
• Experience working closely with mobile developers and mobile products
• Ability to work in ambiguous environments
