Job Description

DealBook seeks a Wall Street and deals reporter with strong sourcing skills to cover major deals, personalities, and financial trends, requiring daily writing and the ability to explain financial maneuvers clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and maintain a deep network of sources on Wall Street and in financial circles
  • Break major news on deals, market shifts, regulatory actions, and industry trends
  • Write engaging, insightful, and accurate articles under tight deadlines
  • Deliver context and analysis, making financial news accessible and engaging for a sophisticated readership
  • Demonstrate support and understanding of our and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience covering Wall Street, finance, or related industries
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly secure high-level interviews and exclusive information
  • Strong writing skills with clarity, flair, and precision
  • Excellent news judgment and ethical standards
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced newsroom environment
