Job Description

Join Scout Motors to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace. This role involves maintaining spot welding equipment, troubleshooting issues, optimizing systems, and training personnel. The role requires in-person attendance in Columbia, South Carolina, and occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and train others on spot welding equipment
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
• Collaborate with engineers to optimize spot welding systems
• Maintain an inventory of spare parts
• Adhere to safety protocols
• Document maintenance activities
• Provide training and technical support

Requirements

• 5-7+ years of experience in automotive production/automated spot welding
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related field
• Ability to read, adjust, and create welding plans
• Strong knowledge of welding parameters
• Knowledge of automated welding with Fanuc Robotics and Nimak Weld guns
• Ability to support the Quality team
• Ability to investigate root cause and correct welding errors
• Ability to understand mechanical assemblies and automated equipment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and presentation skills
