Job Description

Postman is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their team and work on a groundbreaking product leveraging AI to accelerate software development. The role involves developing technology and product offerings that simplify coding complexities by generating fully functional service code from API definitions and example inputs.

Responsibilities

• Apply and improve AI models for code generation from API designs and specifications
• Implement and optimize AI-powered code generation pipelines and tooling
• Work collaboratively in a small, fast-paced team
• Research and integrate state-of-the-art techniques for program synthesis and code automation
• Actively participate in product discovery and iterative design cycles

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in AI and machine learning technologies, especially LLMs and code generation models
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and Python
• Solid understanding of APIs, RESTful architecture, and API design principles
• Familiarity with modern backend frameworks, databases, and scalable service architectures
• Experience working with data vectorization, embedding technologies, and agentic systems
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and CI/CD pipelines
• Deep product sensibility with a focus on impact and user experience
