Job Description

The Deputy General Counsel will join BitGo's legal team to support secure digital asset infrastructure to institutional clients worldwide, navigating the complex regulatory landscape governing digital assets while supporting business operations across custody, trading, and financial services.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel on digital asset custody, trading, and financial services regulations
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements
• Collaborate with compliance teams for regulatory adherence
• Support business development initiatives
• Manage relationships with external counsel
• Advise on corporate governance matters
• Lead legal due diligence for partnerships, acquisitions, and new market entry
• Develop and maintain legal policies, procedures, and training materials
• Monitor regulatory developments and provide strategic guidance
• Support litigation management and dispute resolution efforts

Requirements

• JD from accredited law school
• 8+ years of legal experience with focus on financial services, banking, or securities law
• Demonstrated expertise in digital asset regulations, cryptocurrency compliance, or fintech legal matters
• Experience with money transmission, banking, or securities licensing and regulatory frameworks
• Strong background in contract negotiation and commercial transaction structuring
• Knowledge of international regulatory requirements and cross-border compliance issues
• Proven ability to provide practical legal guidance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Active bar admission in good standing
• Previous experience at a digital asset company, financial institution, or top-tier law firm strongly preferred
