The Control Room Operator monitors plant systems, responds to alarms, ensures safe and efficient operation, and monitors activities to ensure smooth functioning of systems and equipment.
Responsibilities
Operate plant functions from the control room
Manage chip feed system, fuel feed system, furnace, dryer system, primary and secondary sizing and pellet presses
Act as overall contact for plant operations
Monitor production rates and system statuses
Adjust production line processes
Maintain working schedules, equipment temperature, and safety standards
Assess and adjust to malfunctions and equipment failures
Communicate with team members and respond to calls for assistance
Requirements
Ability to understand and follow instructions
Ability to read and interpret documents
Ability to use basic hand tools
Must possess basic computer & math skills
Able to learn how to operate HMI touch screens
High school diploma or GED preferred
Experience in wood products, furnace/dryer operations, or similar manufacturing environment preferred
High attention to detail preferred
Ability to work under stressful conditions preferred
Problem solving skills preferred
Prior experience working in a Control Room preferred
