Job Description

The Investment and Finance Intern will work alongside NPR’s Treasury and Investment team, overseeing the organization’s $0.5 billion of cash and investments. The intern will be exposed to a variety of cash and investment management strategies, analytics, and reporting, and will help develop and maintain investment models, data, and monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in Investment and Treasury functions, including maintaining and developing reporting on NPR’s cash and investments, debt, and liquidity
  • Develop investment manager reviews and reports to analyze management fees, audited financials, performance, and market values
  • Assist in department reviews of daily cash, portfolios’ asset allocations, and private investments
  • Maintain a database of the organization's rating agency debt ratios and other key financial metrics
  • Compile and compare historical benchmark and economic data in relation to the portfolios and financial models
  • Assist in the organization’s finance functions including participation in organizing, developing, and reconciling historical reports on NPR related to flows, budget, and accounting activities
  • Attend meetings and take notes
  • Work with client relationship software to help ensure all necessary documentation is retained and organized

Requirements

  • High organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-starter with willingness to take initiative
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to perform research and make recommendations
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency using a PC and Microsoft Office or Google software, including Excel expertise
  • Ability to meet deadlines and effectively handle multiple assignments
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience developing reports
  • Familiarity with investment management, performance measurement and financial statements preferred
  • Must be a current student or recent graduate
