AffiniPay, a fintech company in Austin, Texas, seeks a Tax Accounting Analyst to ensure tax compliance. The role involves handling various tax aspects, including sales, local, and payroll taxes, and requires a collaborative team player to make a direct impact.

Responsibilities

• Process tax notices and maintain records
• Assist with tax payments
• Prepare and file personal property tax returns
• Renew and maintain business licenses
• Assist in preparing California environmental fee workpapers
• Manage the tax compliance calendar
• Review sales and use tax returns
• Reconcile sales and use tax payable account
• Find solutions to complex tax issues
• Communicate with tax authorities
• Assist with payroll tax registration
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable
• Monitor tax tickets in Zendesk
• Document tax-related processes
• Undertake additional responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or Finance
• 0-2 years of experience (recent graduates welcome)
• 2+ years of experience in tax or accounting role preferred
• CPA designation preferred
• Proficiency in Sales and Use Tax (SUT)
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to learn and adapt
• High level of integrity and confidentiality
