This role supports the 66th Air Base Group (66 ABG) to secure information and systems, support mission success through service delivery, and sustain infrastructure and capabilities within the Air Force Information Network (AFIN).
Responsibilities
Manage and maintain Gigabit Ethernet network infrastructure
Design, install, configure, and troubleshoot network infrastructure
Update and maintain network topology maps
Provide engineering support for classified and unclassified networks
Assist in securing network systems to meet compliance
Participate in system maintenance and optimization
Interface with vendors for technology updates
Diagnose data troubles and handle customer support cases
Execute detailed record keeping for adherence to military processes
Research technical issues and develop solutions
Support emergency operations on an as needed basis
Requirements
Secret clearance
Bachelor’s Degree in IT or equivalent plus 3+ years’ experience
CompTIA Security + required, CCNA an added plus
Hands-on experience in design/configuration/installation of Cisco/Juniper routers/switches
Strong network debugging and troubleshooting skills
Working knowledge of DHCP, NMS, Cisco ISE, Wireshark
Strong knowledge of Layer 3 & Layer 2 protocols in a VoIP environment
Working knowledge of IP address Management/DHCP/Syslog/DNS
Knowledge of W2K12/W2K16/IIS
Good understanding of cabling (Fiber/CAT5E/CAT6)
Knowledge of UPS
Proficient with network hardware and related software
Create and maintain operational procedures, topology maps using Visio
