Job Description

Hermeus is seeking an experienced Mechanisms Test Engineer to develop, build, analyze, and operate test assets for fluid systems and mechanisms of hypersonic vehicles. This role involves working on groundbreaking technology in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, manufacture, implementation, and maintenance of test assets
• Develop and execute tests at system and component levels
• Develop innovative processes to increase testing capability and rate
• Develop and maintain test procedures, sequences, scripts, configuration files, and software
• Design test fixtures and supporting hardware for test rigs and setups
• Operate and troubleshoot data acquisition and control systems, wiring, and instrumentation
• Operate and troubleshoot fluid and mechanical systems
• Identify and characterize systemic pitfalls and potential hazards

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with test equipment
• Strong working knowledge of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and mechanical design
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to think of creative solutions
• Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
• Enjoy working on a team and be able to work efficiently and effectively with others
