Job Description

Hermeus is seeking a Propulsion Manufacturing Engineer to support the day-to-day manufacturing and production of the Chimera engine and its subassemblies. The role involves drafting work orders, using CAD tools, creating BOMs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing and production of the Chimera engine and subassemblies
• Draft, release, and manage Work Orders
• Use CAD tools for propulsion layouts and hardware interfaces
• Create and manage Bills of Materials
• Assist with proof pressure testing
• Support tube bending and assembly for fluid systems
• Execute fluid system cleaning and verification
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering field
• Familiarity with propulsion systems and manufacturing processes
• Proficient in CAD and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
• Comfortable working hands-on with hardware
• Strong communication skills
• Willingness to work overtime or weekends
• Exposure to machining, welding, precision cleaning, or inspection techniques is a plus
• Working knowledge of Python or another coding language
• Ability to use first principles and engineering fundamentals
• Interest or experience in design for manufacturability, product development, or quality systems
