Job Description

Newsweek is building a next-generation video team and is looking for a multifaceted Video Editor / Videographer / Video Producer with a sharp editorial sense, strong visual instincts, and expert post-production skills. The core responsibility of this role is editing, but you should be just as comfortable behind the camera and contributing to the creative process from pitch to publish.

Responsibilities

  • Edit high-quality video content with a strong narrative arc
  • Collaborate with producers and shooters to brainstorm story ideas
  • Independently own projects from ideation through delivery
  • Apply basic motion graphics and visual treatments
  • Ensure content meets platform-specific standards
  • Operate within tight production timelines
  • Manage post-production workflows
  • Shoot original video content

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of experience in digital video, broadcast production, or documentaries
  • Strong experience in both camera operation and video editing
  • Expert in editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro is required)
  • Demonstrated expertise in story structure, visual pacing, and sound design
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Experience shooting on professional cameras
  • Knowledge of motion graphics
  • Deep collaboration skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple projects
  • Willingness to travel
