Job Description

Headway is seeking a Medical Director to lead the Clinical Quality Monitoring team, expand the provider network, and drive clinician performance management. The role involves cross-functional collaboration to shape product development and ensure high-quality behavioral health services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Credentialing, Quality, and Appeals teams
  • Develop provider onboarding and engagement programs
  • Develop clinical quality monitoring and training programs
  • Develop Medicare Advantage program
  • Contribute to strategic planning and goal setting
  • Review and approve new group members
  • Collaborate on credentialing criteria and processes
  • Own medical Professional Corporations (PCs)
  • Support policies and clinical practice guidelines
  • Partner with cross-functional teams
  • Promote external relations with Payers
  • Determine provider removal appropriateness
  • Assist in training and development of medical providers
  • Understand digital tool utilization by clinicians
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Serve as liaison between psychiatric providers and teams
  • Work clinical hours to maintain product knowledge

Requirements

  • MD with 5+ years of psychiatry experience
  • 3+ years in Clinical or Medical Leadership roles in technology
  • Passion for behavioral health quality
  • Experience in health plans, systems, or value-based startups
  • Experience merging technology and healthcare
  • Ability to work with product, operations, and sales teams
  • 2+ years in quality monitoring program management
  • Experience supervising clinicians or large provider teams
  • Cross-functional experience
  • Effective communication of clinical information
  • Experience with or managing Medicare Advantage plans
  • Experience with clinical quality measurement and peer review systems
  • Experience with Telehealth Organization and/or startup
  • Licensed in multiple states or willing to be
