Job Description

Wayve is seeking a Director of Application Software to lead the architecture, development, and delivery of application-layer software libraries for their AI-driven autonomous driving systems. The role involves leading a team, defining software integration frameworks, and ensuring compatibility across various automotive platforms and operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Own application-layer software architecture
• Lead development of reusable libraries and interfaces
• Define and maintain abstraction layers and platform adaptation strategies
• Lead cross-functional efforts for compatibility
• Collaborate with teams to define integration requirements
• Ensure software interfaces comply with industry standards
• Hire, lead, and mentor a high-performance team
• Drive quality and robustness through modern software practices
• Work with partners during evaluation and integration
• Serve as the technical point of contact

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, 5+ in leadership
• Expertise in C++, Python, and system-level programming
• Experience integrating AI workloads into automotive stacks
• Strong understanding of virtualization and automotive middleware
• Familiarity with ISO 26262 and functional safety
• Experience building and leading engineering teams
