Job Description

ARSIEM is seeking a Senior Help Desk Technician to provide technical support for computers and associated networks for a government client in Columbia, MD.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, troubleshoots, services, and repairs personal computers and network equipment
  • Provides personal computer, hardware, and software support
  • Connects personal computers and terminals to existing data networks
  • Diagnoses hardware, software, and network problems
  • Resolves problems or contacts additional technical support
  • Maintains network diagrams and circuit records
  • Maintains trouble logs
  • Instructs users in the use of personal computers and networks
  • Investigates information, network, and communications needs
  • Performs basic PC, PBX, and network software programming

Requirements

  • High School plus specialized training and 5 - 6 years of experience
  • Extensive knowledge of the field
  • Ability to work on moderately difficult assignments
  • Ability to plan own work
  • Ability to use judgment within the limits of standard practice
  • May have day-to-day work coordination of others
