Job Description

The Experimentation Platform team at DoorDash is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to build and evolve an industry-leading platform for data scientists, ML engineers, and non-technical users to design, run, and analyze experiments. The role involves partnering with backend and frontend engineers to build platforms that power data-driven decision-making, focusing on statistical and ML development, and expanding algorithms for large-scale experimentation.

Responsibilities

• Build Experimentation platform to handle new statistical methodologies, machine learning, and AI technologies
• Drive the statistical and ML development of internal platforms
• Expand statistical and causal inference algorithms for large-scale experimentation
• Apply semi-supervised learning, LLM, active learning, and data augmentation strategies
• Advise data scientists, operators, and engineers on experimental design and adoption of experimentation tools

Requirements

• 10+ years of industry experience developing statistical or ML models
• M.S. or PhD in Statistics, Causal Inference, Experimentation, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field
• Expertise with programming languages like Python, Java, Kotlin, Go, SciKit Learn, Spark MLLib, etc.
• Experience building reliable, scalable, and highly available distributed systems
• Located or planning to relocate to San Francisco, CA, Sunnyvale, CA, or Seattle, WA
