The Assistant Manager supports the Shop Manager in all business areas, ensuring a strong customer and staff experience, operational excellence, and exceeding sales goals.
Responsibilities
Exceeding sales goals and ensuring a unique customer experience
Educating customers and staff on brand values
Increasing product knowledge and making informed recommendations
Demonstrating business acumen and understanding of metrics
Supporting the team on the sales floor and motivating them
Supporting staff growth through coaching and leading by example
Engaging the team to ensure they are inspired and motivated
Supporting the staffing of the shop
Creating and executing plans that improve staff engagement
Keeping the shop compliant and ensuring staff are practicing company standards
Managing ordering to ensure the right products are in the store
Following merchandising and design standards to drive sales
Ensuring the right number of staff are scheduled at peak times
Requirements
1-3 years managing or supervising in a retail environment
Excellent listening and communication skills
Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills
Excellent organization and time management skills
Strong customer service, supervisory, and sales skills
Knowledge and interest in skincare, natural beauty, and ethical business
Ability to work flexible hours
Experience with consultation-based customer service models
Ability to develop and train staff through positive coaching and feedback
Proficient in excel, Microsoft suit, and adaptable to other systems
Basic HR skills in hiring, scheduling, training, and performance management
Experience in cross-cultural collaboration and DEIB or social justice training
