Job Description

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer specializing in composites to develop methods and processes for repairing and overhauling aircraft engine components. The role involves creating work instructions, planning operations, evaluating component conditions, and providing technical support. The ideal candidate will have experience with fiber-reinforced polymer composites and a degree in a STEM field.

Responsibilities

• Develop methods and processes for repair and overhaul of engine components
• Write process plans and work instructions
• Plan sequences of operations and create schedules
• Evaluate out-of-tolerance conditions
• Establish requirements for equipment and tooling
• Investigate and troubleshoot process issues
• Provide technical support to operations
• Consult with outside engineering entities
• Coordinate manufacturing and automation projects
• Provide technical support and guidance to suppliers
• Analyze process data for continuous improvement

Requirements

• Prior experience with fiber-reinforced polymer composites
• Knowledge of composites manufacturing processes
• Understanding of composites applications for gas turbines
• A degree in STEM field and minimum 5 years of experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft O365 suite
• Ability to interpret manufacturing drawings and 3D models
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
