Job Description

HRL Laboratories is seeking a MEMS Process Engineer to join its team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in semiconductor wafer processing, microfabrication, and metrology. They will participate in the design, fabrication, and characterization of MEMS devices and subsystems, contributing to the development of cutting-edge inertial sensors.

Responsibilities

• Innovate and create novel microfabrication processes
• Integrate processes into optimized process flows for wafer-scale sensors and actuators
• Participate in design, layout, fabrication, and characterization of MEMS devices
• Conduct layout design and design of experiments
• Provide timely feedback to project teammates through wafer inspections and metrology data

Requirements

• Hands-on semiconductor wafer processing experience in an R&D environment
• Knowledge of microfabrication steps (photolithography, thin film deposition, dry etch, etc.)
• Solid verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to conduct metrology (optical/infrared microscopy, interferometry, SEM)
• Design and characterize process control monitors (PCM)
