Job Description

VergeSense is looking for an experienced Firmware Engineer to be a strong leader on their engineering team. This role is based out of their Mountain View, California HQ. The company provides an Occupancy Intelligence Platform used by over 220 companies globally. The engineer will own firmware shipping to customers, work on low power inference technologies, and engage with the team to define requirements and develop software architecture.

Responsibilities

• Own firmware shipping to hundreds of global fortune 500 customers
• Work on low power inference on the edge technologies
• Engage with team to define requirements, develop software architecture, and plan development
• Deliver innovative solutions from concept to prototype to production
• Conduct software unit tests
• Document software designs
• Contribute to factory test procedures
• Troubleshoot and remove defects from production software
• Communicate and interact with team to share technical details and report progress
• Participate in brainstorms and contribute outside area of expertise

Requirements

• Eagerness to learn firmware development
• Experience researching, designing and developing contemporary processor, networking, user interface, sensor, safety, and charging electronics
• Experience developing code for low power wireless devices
• Experience developing devices for large volume production
• Track record of delivering designs optimized for multiple dimensions
• Experience developing from circuit design to full-scale system design
• Design for security experience
• Experience working on platform software
• Experience designing a variety of peripheral devices and sensors
• Experience C coding in an embedded Linux environment
• Ability and willingness to make critical system-level design decisions and drive projects
