Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional and results-driven Technical Project Manager to join the SPARC engineering team. The TPM will play a pivotal role in driving complex engineering projects within SPARC, our first-of-a-kind compact fusion machine. The role will involve driving projects from inception to completion, focusing on near-term system design and longer-term project lifecycle management, including design, procurement, and build activities. The successful candidate will take ownership of project success, setting milestones, ensuring deliverables are met, and adhering to budget and timeline parameters.

Responsibilities

  • Drive engineering projects from inception to completion
  • Lead a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, analysts, procurement specialists, and other stakeholders
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture
  • Own responsibility, authority, and accountability for cost & schedule
  • Monitor project timelines, identify potential delays, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Keep stakeholders informed about project progress through regular updates and reporting
  • Lead the active management of risks throughout the project lifecycle
  • Identify risks, develop and drive mitigation plans, and keep stakeholders informed about risk progress

Requirements

  • Proven track record of managing complex engineering projects
  • Excellent project management skills

  • Deep understanding of technical project lifecycles
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in engineering and project management
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in an engineering field
  • Strong sense of self-motivation and personal accountability

  • Exceptional planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Thorough understanding of engineering product life-cycle
