Job Description

Postman seeks a Head of Developer Relations to lead and scale its global developer engagement strategy, focusing on building a world-class function that drives measurable business impact through community building, developer advocacy, enablement, and evangelism, particularly in the context of AI-powered development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategy to grow a vibrant community of API builders, platform engineers, and AI developers
• Build a global community strategy, including scaling in-person user groups
• Manage and expand the Postman Student Program
• Launch and own a new Postman Startup Program
• Establish clear goals and KPIs for engagement, activation, and retention
• Build long-term relationships with influential developers
• Serve as the connective tissue between developers and the Postman product team
• Ensure Postman maintains high credibility with advanced users
• Champion the needs and voices of developers internally
• Lead the development of high-impact content
• Guide the strategy to support developers across multiple channels
• Represent Postman externally at conferences and within online developer communities
• Drive awareness and affinity for Postman’s vision
• Cultivate relationships with thought leaders, partners, and contributors
• Recruit, mentor, and scale a world-class team
• Set strategic goals, empower autonomous execution, and build a strong performance-oriented culture

Requirements

• 10+ years in developer relations, developer experience, or technical community leadership roles, with 8+ years leading teams
• Strong technical foundation, ideally in APIs, cloud-native platforms, or AI/ML
• Proven experience building developer communities and engagement programs
• Deep empathy for developers, combined with strategic thinking and business acumen
• Exceptional storytelling and communication skills
• Passionate about AI, platform tooling, and shaping the future of software development
• Based in San Francisco
