Job Description

Perform critical engineering and R&D for next generation quantum photonic/electronic devices and/or deployable optical payloads. Design, model, setup, and test of free-space and/fiber optic experiments. Perform measurements, collect, summarize, and analyze data, present and discuss data with other scientists. Work with mechanical and electrical teams to troubleshoot complex systems.

Requirements

  • Experience with free space/fiber optics, electronics, and computer-controlled experiments
  • Desire to learn scientific laboratory techniques
  • Coursework or equivalent experience in optics, lasers, and quantum mechanics
  • Programming in MATLAB or Python
  • Working knowledge of free space optics, fiber optics, mechanical CAD software, and rf-test equipment
  • Bachelor’s or master’s in physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related discipline
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance
