As an Accountant II, you will be responsible for performing accounting control-related functions as well as financial reporting activities related to the group accident and health, as well as the individual life and annuity insurance products.
Responsibilities
Prepare and record monthly general ledger entries
Request and process monthly settlement payments
Conduct monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts
Investigate and resolve reconciling items
Support various departmental projects
Analyze individual reinsurance data files
Prepare and analyze financial statement filings
Handle state filing requests
Compile and prepare premium data for internal tax partners
Coordinate and prepare data for auditors and state regulators
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
1-3 years of hands-on accounting experience
Ensure timely and accurate financial filings
Maintain a strong sense of responsibility for financial data
Leverage data analysis skills
Contribute significantly to the accurate recording and reporting of company-wide transactions
