Job Description

Torc is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to join the Sensors Team, focusing on developing sensors for autonomous driving trucks. The role involves analyzing hardware requirements, collaborating with suppliers, developing test plans, and ensuring alignment between hardware and system goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop lidar, radar, camera, INS, and microphone components
  • Maintain requirements databases using DOORS and Jama
  • Interpret system-level requirements and decompose into sensor component requirements
  • Collaborate with automotive Tier-1 suppliers
  • Design and establish robust test plans
  • Partner with the Component Enablement software team
  • Perform problem-solving activities
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 6+ years experience OR Master’s degree with 3+ years experience
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience with sensor modalities like LiDAR, Radar, Cameras, INS, and Microphones
  • Experience with Requirements Management Tools such as DOORS and Jama
  • Understanding of automotive ECUs and methodologies
  • Familiarity with data buses such as CAN, PCIe, Ethernet, Automotive Ethernet, LIN, I2C
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations
  • Experience with high speed signaling and signal integrity
  • Experience with standard lab equipment
  • Willingness to work across teams, geographies and time zones
