Job Description

FalconX is seeking a Deputy General Counsel to advise its global Markets team and contribute to product development within the digital asset space. The role involves navigating complex regulations, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing legal expertise on financial products and services.

Responsibilities

• Partner with teams on new financial product development and advise on existing ones
• Manage lawyers responsible for derivatives products
• Serve as senior lawyer for the global Markets team
• Evaluate and mitigate risks throughout the product lifecycle
• Develop policies and procedures to reduce legal exposure

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to a State Bar and good standing
• 10+ years in a legal advisory role
• 7+ years advising on institutional financial products
• 7+ years with complex legal transaction negotiations
• Direct experience in Financial Services or an Institutional FinTech company/product
• Knowledge of Capital Markets, Derivatives, Equities, Credit Lending, and Prime Brokerages
• Significant experience providing regulatory advice with respect to the Dodd-Frank Act
• Record of working well with institutional financial regulators, including the CFTC and SEC
• Experience providing targeted legal advice to institutional trading businesses
• Expertise in digital asset transactions
• Proven record of successfully building or refining product offerings in financial services
• History of effective collaboration with cross-functional teams in a financial services environment
• Track record of successfully navigating complex legal and regulatory environments
• History of effective legal team management in the preparation of contractual documentation
