Job Description

The Senior Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Specialist II will develop and maintain proposal costing models, develop financial forecasts, track cost and schedule performance, and perform variance analysis for reporting of projects/programs in a startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and developing new business proposals
  • Generating cost volumes for proposals
  • Designing and developing Cost Models and Cost Estimating Relationships (CERs)
  • Creating and presenting cost issues and risks to senior and executive leadership
  • Providing budget and financial artifacts for program startup
  • Generating monthly Integrated Program Management Reports (IPMR) and Quarterly Estimate at Completions (EACs)
  • Acting as the subject matter expert for financial performance of programs
  • Interfacing with Executive Management, Program Management, Accounting, Functional Leads, and customers
  • Preparing monthly forecasts outlooks
  • Providing financial analysis for audits and other financial activities
  • Creating, updating, and maintaining financial models and detailed forecasts
  • Comparing historical results against budgets and forecasts and performing variance analysis
  • Researching key financial ratios of industry peers and benchmarking company data
  • Evaluating company financial data to ensure investments are the best use of capital
  • Evaluating financials for each department and working with individual departments to prepare budgets/forecasts
  • Generating three- to five-year financial forecasts
  • Extracting Big Data sets and consolidating them into useful analytics
  • Developing dashboards and key metrics to track the business and inform strategy

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience developing and implementing financial budgets and forecasts
  • Experience in developing cost volumes, basis of estimates (BOEs), and roll-ups
  • Understanding of EVMS principles and Program Baseline Planning
  • Ability to analyze data and synthesize complexity into clarity
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with various departments
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to identify risks, evaluate the probability and magnitude, and implement risk mitigating strategies
  • Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
