Job Description

Discord is seeking a technical, hands-on Engineering Manager to lead the Experiences team within the Growth organization. The team focuses on resolving key pain points to grow, engage, and retain users and the Discord community. The role involves working with full-stack engineers and cross-functional partners to execute strategic missions.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute growth initiatives roadmap with Product, Design, Data Science, and Marketing
• Build and manage a team of full-stack engineers through hiring, coaching, and instilling best practices
• Drive continuous improvement in activation and retention using experimentation and metrics
• Ensure team delivers extraordinary results using technical expertise
• Collaborate across the company to improve existing products and primitives at scale
• Partner with leadership on strategic planning and improving the Engineering organization

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
• 2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager
• Experience collaborating with product managers, designers, data scientists, and engineers
• Focus on delivering a delightful experience for end users and stakeholders
• Motivation to help team members succeed and experience growing engineers
• Comfortable with code
