Job Description

The Rackspace Sales Development Specialist identifies and qualifies prospective customers via inbound channels (Chat, incoming phone calls, and form submissions) and makes outbound sales contact (including cold calling) to develop leads until they are ready to engage with a sales executive. Will use a combination of automated tools and manual activity to record sales prospecting activity in computer-based tracking systems. Responsible for a basic understanding of Cloud Hosting, Rackspace solutions and value proposition, and providing a fanatical interaction with every prospective customer. Responsible for adhering to company security policies and procedures and any other relevant policies and standards as directed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and work a pipeline of marketing qualified leads until passed to Sales Executive
  • Meet monthly quota of qualified leads passed to Sales
  • Take inbound sales chats, calls, and respond to form submissions
  • Utilize product information to engage with potential customers
  • Conduct needs analysis and determine prospect pain points
  • Research market segments to identify potential customers and make first contact
  • Develop new business via telephone, email, and social media
  • Prepare and analyze leads pipeline reports and dashboards
  • Other Incidental tasks related to the job

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or regional equivalent
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 2 years of experience in the field
  • Basic knowledge of industry drivers, customer trends, competition, and market themes
  • Basic knowledge of business management, operations, and strategic planning
  • Basic business knowledge of sales, marketing, and support functions
