Job Description

Routinely responsible for the maintenance and repairs to the building and grounds, related fixed portable equipment and installation under the supervision of the Chief Engineer and/or Assistant Chief Engineer. Supports the implementation and documentation of site safety plans and all ABM Engineering Services’ operational standards and guidelines, as well as site specific standards, policies and procedures relating to the engineering department.

  • Implementation and documentation of safety plans
  • Adherence to operational standards and guidelines
  • Maintaining and cleaning mechanical, electrical, and shop areas
  • Learning all facets of the trade, building, and industry
  • Coordinating parts, supplies, and equipment
  • Performing simple procedures and routine maintenance
  • Performing miscellaneous tasks
  • Maintaining and repairing buildings, utilities, grounds, and equipment
  • Optimizing repair and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
  • Troubleshooting and repairing equipment and system problems
  • Promoting energy conservation and continuous improvement
  • Recording data in building logbooks
  • Processing administrative paperwork
  • Staying abreast of building systems and equipment technology
  • Emergency response regarding fire and life safety
  • Working as a team member
  • Demonstrating commitment to quality of service
  • Complying with ABM Engineering Services’ and facility policies
  • Complying and participating in safety programs
  • Maintaining regular attendance
  • Providing high-quality service to tenants, staff, and visitors
  • Participating in regular communication

Requirements

  • 1-2 years' related experience, preferably in a commercial setting
  • HVAC or Trade Certification (preferred)
  • Computer skills for building and ABM Engineering Services systems
  • OSHA ACM awareness training certification
  • Working knowledge of energy conservation strategies
