Job Description

Axios Live is seeking an Associate Director of Production to lead the creation and execution of editorial events, both in-person and virtual, and help shape the future of Axios Live. This role involves overseeing production operations, vendor coordination, show-calling, stage management, and post-event editing, while also mentoring talent and collaborating in the creative process.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of Axios events across the country and internationally
• Oversee all production operations including pre-production logistics and livestream execution
• Coordinate with vendors
• Manage show-calling and stage management
• Handle post-event editing
• Mentor rising talent
• Collaborate in the creative process
• Play a key role in the growth and evolution of the production team

Requirements

• 5+ years of high-volume, fast-paced event production experience
• Self-starter mentality with a passion for innovation
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong vendor management skills and a trusted network of production partners
• Ability to manage and negotiate event budgets with limited supervision
• Experience in show-calling, stage management, and producing live events
• Ability to clip video footage using Adobe Premiere Pro under tight deadlines
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects)
• Creative thinking around asset design and set fabrication
• Confidence in communicating with executive-level and high-profile newsmakers
• A calm, problem-solving mindset in high-pressure environments
• Willingness to travel regularly
• Flexibility for early mornings and late nights as needed
• Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Wrike) is a plus
