Job Description

As the Director of Employee Relations, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a positive workplace culture across our global organization. This position is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive employee relations policies and procedures that align with our organizational values. You will lead initiatives in governance related to HR matters, resolve workplace conflicts, address employee concerns, and conduct thorough workplace investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Policies and Procedures
  • Operationalizes new or revised People policies in collaboration within HR and other key Departments
  • Develop and implement compliance procedures for organization-wide HR policies
  • Addresses workplace conflicts and seeks to resolve them positively
  • Conducts formal investigations into employee allegations in accordance with best practices and StackAdapt’s policies
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations matters
  • Manages non-disability-related accommodation requests
  • Oversees non-compensation-related negotiations for StackAdapt’s employment agreements
  • Reviews termination rationales with the Legal team for all terminations
  • Provides guidance and scripting to leaders as needed for conducting terminations
  • Offers expert advice and recommendations to HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and business leaders on a broad range of employee relations issues
  • Ensures employees are treated in alignment with StackAdapt’s values while mitigating legal, financial, and reputational risks
  • Develop and track key employee relations metrics
  • Utilize data-driven insights from employee relations cases and workplace investigations to identify patterns, mitigate risks, and inform proactive policy enhancements

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience working in an Employee Relations role with supporting experience in other parts of the People function
  • Strong preference for employment law background
  • Exceptional understanding of legislative requirements in Canada/US
  • Strong business partnership experience
  • Deep experience in policy drafting and implementation
  • Excellent planning, problem-solving, decision-making, negotiating skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive information with absolute confidentiality and professionalism
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and conflict management skills
  • Ability to manage many competing demands and prioritize work accordingly
