Job Description

GoFundMe is seeking a dynamic Senior Tax Associate to join their global tax team. This role involves assisting in the preparation of the global corporate income tax provision, leading outsourced global direct and indirect tax compliance processes, performing tax research, assisting with tax credits & incentives, establishing standard tax operating procedures, enhancing SOX documentation, and helping with direct and indirect tax audits.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and automation of global annual and quarterly income tax provision models under ASC 740
• Coordinate and review outsourced tax compliance for direct and indirect taxes globally
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including accounting, finance, treasury and legal
• Support transfer pricing, R&D tax credit, and other specialty tax areas
• Monitor developments in tax accounting literature and assist with documentation and maintenance of global corporate tax accounting policies
• Assist with ongoing global direct and indirect tax nexus studies
• Identify and implement improvements to optimize global tax accounting, compliance, and cash-tax forecasting processes
• Assist with tax structuring initiatives related to the expansion of the business globally
• Support tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities
• Maintain the global tax calendar

Requirements

• 4+ years of corporate tax experience, including experience with income tax provisions
• Ability to perform tax technical and tax accounting research
• Prior experience at a Big 4 public accounting firm preferred
• BA/BBA/BS in Accounting, Finance or business-related field required
• CPA is preferred
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization and manage relationships with external parties
• Self starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, manage and adhere to deadlines, and proactively drive results
• Detail oriented and organized
• Experience with an ERP system and experience with NetSuite a plus
• Experience with companies in the financial technology or digital payments industry a plus
