Job Description

As a Software Engineer, Data Platform at Whatnot, you will play a critical role in defining the technical direction and leading the development of the retrieval platform to power next-gen systems. You will be responsible for driving innovation, ensuring the scalability and performance of our systems, and working with a team of engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

• Define technical direction and lead development of the retrieval platform
• Drive innovation and ensure scalability and performance of systems
• Work with a team of engineers to deliver high-quality solutions
• Make key decisions about how we integrate data systems
• Optimize aspects of our company’s architecture

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience
• Ability to write well-tested, API-driven applications
• Track record of building scalable and performant distributed systems
• Expertise in managing cloud data stores
• Expertise in streaming data systems
• Experience supporting operational systems
• Experience managing cloud technologies
• Proficiency in at least one server-side programming language
• Self-starter ethic
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
