Job Description

Verkada is seeking a leader for their Cameras software engineering team to build cloud-based physical security cameras. The role involves leading multiple teams, working cross-functionally, and focusing on reliability, scalability, and user-friendliness. The VP will be responsible for the design, architecture, and development of systems to serve a growing customer base.

Responsibilities

• Devise and implement a long-term vision for Verkada’s camera products
• Integrate cameras into the broader Verkada platform
• Build scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems
• Build a high-caliber team through recruitment, mentoring, and leadership
• Drive team execution and maintain high-quality software standards
• Execute high-impact projects with high quality
• Collaborate with C-suite and engineering leaders to define goals and priorities
• Support business requirements and prioritize work based on impact

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in managing and leading engineers
• 5+ years of experience in managing engineering managers
• Experience in a software engineering role with technical leadership skills
• Proficiency in agile team software development and project management
• Adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Passion for technology and staying updated with industry trends
• Experience with AWS, Embedded Linux, Go or Python, secure operating systems, and security-focused programming
