Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer, Product Security, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external partners to ensure the security and integrity of our systems and data. You will be a trusted advisor, working closely with various teams to identify security risks, develop mitigation strategies, and drive security features in products Reddit delivers.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in peer programming related to security and privacy components
  • Conduct security architecture reviews
  • Provide technical guidance on security requirements
  • Act as a glue between infrastructure and development teams
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders
  • Act as a primary point of contact for security-related inquiries
  • Facilitate communication between security teams and partners
  • Conduct threat modeling assessments
  • Identify and evaluate potential security vulnerabilities
  • Make recommendations and ship those recommendations with partner development teams
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and regulations
  • Promote security awareness and best practices
  • Develop and deliver security training materials
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest security trends
  • Evangelize paved paths developed by Reddit security teams
  • Participate in security incident response activities
  • Conduct post-incident reviews

Requirements

  • Deep experience with Golang programming languages
  • Familiarity with DevOps technologies
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in security partnerships or related role
  • Strong understanding of security principles and industry standards
  • Experience with threat modeling and security risk assessment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong project management skills
  • Knowledge of cloud security (AWS, GCP), infrastructure components, and distributed systems design
  • Experience with vendor security assessments
  • Experience with security compliance
