Job Description

Seeking a Principal Systems Engineer I to develop phased arrays for satellites, spacecraft, and aerospace systems. The role involves space architecture concepts, sub-system design, payload design, requirements development, analysis, and high-level system architecture design. The candidate will coordinate activities across multidiscipline engineering teams and drive complex programs to success.

Responsibilities

  • Define requirements and ensure compatibility of interfaces
  • Support project scheduling and coordination
  • Be the primary technical point of contact with external customers
  • Act as a liaison between program management, engineering, and manufacturing
  • Participate in the development of system engineering processes
  • Perform risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies
  • Identify and resolve issues
  • Foster a culture of efficiency and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • 9+ years of experience with space-based communication payloads
  • Practical experience with antenna and RF systems
  • Experience working with product/component developers and vendors
  • Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills
  • Proficiency with a requirements management tool
  • Ability to define work direction and track milestones
  • Sense of urgency and ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Ability to work well with multifunctional teams
