Job Description

The Solar and BESS Operations Manager will assist the VP of Property Management and Renewable Energy Operations Staff with day-to-day management duties of utility-scale solar and BESS assets, including reporting, technical operations management, strategic planning, development support, investment technical diligence, and site inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical operations expert
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality deliverables from service providers
  • Manage project documentation
  • Ensure contractual and regulatory compliance
  • Manage claims, notices, and warranty events
  • Monitor solar and battery assets
  • Evaluate asset performance
  • Identify opportunities to improve asset resiliency
  • Assist with monthly and annual operational reporting
  • Help build and maintain project-level budgets
  • Conduct site visits and QA/QC inspections
  • Support development and investment teams
  • Ensure project meter data is managed
  • Ensure asset operations are compliant
  • Perform other related duties

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (advanced degree preferred)
  • At least three years of prior work experience in renewable energy O&M, energy storage, electrical infrastructure, and/or technical asset management
  • Experience managing California-located utility-scale solar and solar + storage projects preferred
  • Highly proficient in learning new software tools
  • Experience in a problem-solving role
  • Experience with renewable energy project construction and/or operation
  • A self-starter
  • Detail-oriented
  • Interested in and have at least 3 years management experience in renewable energy and energy markets
  • Experience with renewable energy data acquisition systems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage workload autonomously and effectively
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to apply commercial judgment
  • Practices excellent time management with a strong ability to multitask
  • Willingness to work in an open office environment
  • A team player
  • Experience with managing renewable assets in CAISO is preferred
