The Building Engineer supports the daily operations of building systems, including maintenance and repair of HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems, and responding to customer requests.
Responsibilities
Operate, maintain, and repair boilers, heaters, pumps, valves, and lines for steam and heated or processed systems
Maintain and repair refrigerant compressors, condensers, and related equipment
Maintain and repair pumps handling refrigerating liquids
Maintain and repair air compressors and distribution lines
Maintain and repair gas distribution lines, valves, and controls
Maintain and repair water filters, softeners, piping, and pumps
Maintain and repair electrical motors and engines
Maintain and repair fuel oil systems
Maintain and repair sanitary sewer systems
Maintain and repair trash compactors
Maintain electrical power distribution and auxiliaries
Ensure proper operation during seasonal changes and recalibrate controls
Perform all equipment maintenance as required per the Preventive Maintenance Program
Maintain security systems
Perform duties and responsibilities as requested by Building Management
Requirements
Formal knowledge of HVAC Components
Experience commensurate with the position of Jr. Building Engineer
Ability to read and interpret required licenses
Highest-level relevant state/local license for Stationary Engineer and/or HVAC
Universal level refrigerant recovery license
Computer skills and building automation systems experience
