Job Description

ABM is seeking a dynamic General Maintenance Technician to support a building or facility by performing tasks such as changing light bulbs, cleaning spills, and conducting light mechanical maintenance. The technician will report safety hazards and larger maintenance issues to the customer and must be flexible and willing to complete all assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of restroom and breakroom plumbing fixtures
• Clearing drains
• General labor, such as carrying, stacking, and organizing materials
• Debris and trash removal
• Repairs and cleaning of HVAC registers, radiators, and return grills
• Minor furniture repairs
• Maintaining and/or replacing door hardware
• Repairing/replacing venetian blinds
• Maintenance painting
• General cleaning in mechanical spaces and exterior entry spaces
• Cleaning and painting non-operating mechanical equipment
• Miscellaneous handyman work
• Replacing lamps and cleaning light fixtures
• Replacing ceiling tiles and floor tiles
• Replacing air filters
• Cleaning engineering shop areas
• Replacing fire extinguishers
• Hanging framed objects
• Complying with client and internal ABM processes and policies
• Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Experience in an office facilities environment is desired
• Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards and regulations
• Valid state-issued driver’s license
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to adjust work schedule as needed
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Previous custodial experience is desired
• Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per day
