Job Description

The General Maintenance Technician will complete assigned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs requiring conveyor, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC and other equipment, systems or structures. Ensures repairs and maintenance to all equipment and facilities. Responds to spills and other emergency situations, performing tasks necessary. Assists in emergencies as needed.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain plumbing drains
• Perform general labor tasks
• Repair and clean HVAC registers and radiators
• Repair/replace door hardware
• Paint mechanical and electrical equipment
• Clean exterior entry spaces
• Replace lamps and ceiling tiles
• Replace floor tiles
• Replace air filters
• Clean engineering shop
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Understanding of hand tools
• Understanding of specialized tools
• Understanding of mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems
• Ability to use a computer and digital information tools
• Ability to communicate effectively
